Some of my fondest memories as a young child are those of camping, climbing trees in the woods and searching for 4-leaf clovers with my cats in our backyard. I have always had a deep respect for all living things and being enveloped in nature. Even today I find solace and inspiration in “forest bathing” at local parks. On my first attempt at creating something from a spool of wire I literally felt branches of a tree growing at my fingertips with each twist, which was fascinating – and addictive. Thus began my journey, using living trees and nature as my muse. I am especially drawn to bonsai trees in that each cut will specifically determine the appearance and future growth of the tree.
Each of my creations are 100 % hand-twisted and truly a labor of love. I use anywhere between 220 to 440 feet of 20-gauge colored aluminum wire for a medium-sized wire tree, taking and average of 8 to 12 hours to complete. Typically I will create a custom "rock" made of clay and/or polymer clay, that contains colors to accent the tree.

The bases I use will either be ceramic, wooden pedestal or hand-cut wood from a tree that has passed on.
I am inspired by nature.
There is a purpose to every branch, root and leaf on a tree. Creating an artistic interpretation of a living plant or animal as a sculpture, that may last forever, is extremely rewarding and purely magical. Wire trees are wonderful gifts and can be used as decoration for an office, living room, bedroom or any place you would like to bring in a piece of nature and "life" .
DRAGONFLY WARRIOR PRODUCTIONS, LLC was founded by Christine Booras, embracing a personal philosophy on self-empowerment and appreciation of nature's gifts. Our goal is to inspire; through art, music, books or merely exposure to the beautiful world around us and the joys it can bring if we take the time to look and listen.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Christine Booras was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL exploring local woods and creeks, fascinated by the wildlife and trees that had made it their home. Attending the University of Florida, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology then went on to work in the corporate world for over 25 years until pursuing her own business.
As an artist, author, athlete, and musician Christine finds pleasure and intrigue in working with wire to design nature-themed art, using living trees as her muse. Spending most of her adult life participating and studying martial arts, she is especially drawn to bonsai trees in that each cut has a purpose and will specifically determine the appearance and future growth of the tree.
Each of her sculptures are unique and 100% hand-twisted using 20-gauge colored aluminum wire. For the full wire trees she will use anywhere between 220 to 440 feet of wire and 8 to 10 hours of time to create one medium-sized tree. For her larger, more realistic trees she will utilize other mediums in addition to wire, such as clay and foliage. These sculptures require several days and even weeks to complete due to the use of multiple mediums and intricate detail involved. She participates in statewide Fine Arts Festivals and has been honored to have her work chosen to be on display in a local art gallery in Jacksonville (The Art Center Cooperative) and has recently had her works receive international recognition in competitions. She is currently a member of the Jacksonville Artist Guild.
Christine still makes time to share her love of music playing bagpipes and the tenor drum with Jacksonville Pipes & Drums and treasures “forest bathing” at a local park as inspiration and keeping up her physical prowess shooting 3D targets with her longbow. Maintaining a deep respect for and connection with animals and plants, she served as a volunteer at Marineland and the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens and continues to gain inspiration and magic from nature’s gifts every day.
